Rania Fazah

A seasoned evaluation and capacity development specialist, Rania has worked extensively in conflict and fragile contexts for over 20 years. She has expertise in local and municipal development, applied research, policy assessment, advocacy, gender inclusiveness and gender-based violence, inclusive security and economy, human rights, political and civic participation, conflict analysis and corporate accountability.

Rania has worked with and for a wide range of local and international organisations such as UNDP, the International Development Resource Centre of Canada, USAID, Democracy Reporting International, International Republican Institute, Save the Children as well as the private sector and governmental stakeholders. Recent work includes leading the design and performance measurement of interventions to promote women’s leadership in countering violent extremism in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kenya, Libya, Pakistan, Syria, and Tunisia. Rania previously led capacity development programs for civil society organisations in Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, and Yemen. Earlier in her career she managed programming and M&E across the Middle East for IPAX, a Dutch peace-building NGO and for Save the Children.

Rania holds a Masters in Evaluation from the University of Melbourne, Australia, a post-graduate diploma in program and policy evaluation from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and a double BA in Journalism and Political Sciences from the Lebanese University in Beirut.
